Do-it-yourself maintenance CAUTION n When raising your vehicle Make sure to observe the following to reduce the possibility of death or seri- ous injury. lLift up the vehicle using a floor jack such as the one shown in the illustra- tion. lDo not use the floor jack that was supplied with your vehicle. lDo not put any part of your body or get underneath the vehicle supported only by the floor jack. Always use automotive jack stands or a solid, level, surface.4 lDo not start the hybrid system while the vehicle is supported by the floor jack. lStop the vehicle on level firm ground, firmly set the parking brake and pushMai n the “P” position switch. tenan lMake sure to set the jack properly at the jack point. ce and care Raising the vehicle with an improperly positioned jack will damage the vehicle and may cause the vehicle to fall off the jack. lDo not raise the vehicle while someone is in the vehicle. lWhen raising the vehicle, do not place any objects on top of or underneath the jack. 363 PRIUS_U_(L/O_0802)
