HYbrid4 teknologien er en kombination af
to energikilder: HDi-dieselmotoren driver
forhjulene (forhjulstræk) og el-motoren driver
baghjulene (baghjulstræk).
Disse to motorer kan aktiveres hver for
sig eller samtidigt afhængigt af den valgte
hybridfunktion og kørselsforholdene.
El-motoren driver bilen alene i funktionen
"ZEV" (Zero Emission Vehicle) samt i
funktionen "Auto" under kørsel med lav
hastighed og moderat belastning. Den hjælper
dieselmotoren ved start, acceleration og
gearskift.
Batteriet, som forsyner el-motoren, genoplades
under deceleration og lagrer energi til senere
anvendelse.
